Ole Miss football player Corey Adams, 18, has been killed in a shooting in Tennessee. The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that four other people were injured, but are stable.
According to officials, Adams was found with a gunshot wound and received life-saving measures until the fire department arrived. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Adams was a standout high school football player, known for his defensive skills. The Ole Miss Rebels team released a statement expressing their shock and sadness over Adams’ death. They will not be commenting further, asking the community to respect the privacy of everyone involved.
In his junior year of high school, Adams recorded 51 tackles and 12 sacks as a top-rated recruiting prospect. He was also a two-time first-team All-State selection.
