Apple is set to release its first public beta for iOS 26 this week, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The iOS 26 public beta was initially announced by Apple in July, but a specific release date was not provided.
The release of the public beta will coincide with other operating systems, including iPadOS 26, macOS 26, tvOS 26, and watchOS 26. Additionally, Apple is planning to offer a public beta for its next major AirPods firmware update.
Anyone can sign up for the Apple Beta Software Program for free and gain access to the public betas. Before installing beta software, it’s recommended to back up devices in case of issues.
The updates have already been available in developer beta, and while those with an Apple Developer account can access them, the public is advised to wait for the official public betas.
Meanwhile, rumors are circulating that Apple will start development on iOS 27 soon, focusing on software features tailored for a long-rumored foldable iPhone, expected to launch later this year.
