Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 lineup is set to revolutionize the smartphone industry with its bold redesign, new features, and a massive change in launch strategy. The flagship models, including the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, are expected to hit store shelves in September 2026.
A major highlight of the new lineup is Apple’s first foldable iPhone, which will feature a book-style design that folds open to reveal a massive 7.8-inch display. When closed, the device will have a compact 5.5-inch cover screen. The foldable phone will be made with titanium and stainless steel, featuring an ultra-thin glass display and Samsung-made screens.
The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models will boast upgraded cameras, including two 48MP sensors, Main and Ultra Wide. These devices will also feature under-display Face ID, a new front design with possibly a smaller Dynamic Island or a subtle pinhole camera. The camera system may include a variable aperture for more manual control over light and depth.
The entire high-end iPhone 18 lineup will run on Apple’s next-gen A20 chip, built on TSMC’s 2nm process, offering better thermal performance and up to 30% more efficiency compared to the A19. Additionally, the new C2 modem will bring mmWave 5G support and improved signal reliability.
The base iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e models are still in development and will launch later in spring 2027, marking a new split release strategy for Apple.
