Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry has confirmed the death of former Interior Ministry official Ihor Hrushevskyi, who died from drowning at a residential complex in Villajoyosa, Spain. The ministry stated that consular assistance was provided to help prepare documents for his repatriation to Ukraine.
Hrushevskyi’s death comes amid ongoing suspicions surrounding Russian pilot Maksim Kuzminov’s murder in the same area in February 2024. Western intelligence sources reported at the time that the killers were allegedly paid by Russian state officials in Vienna.
The incident has raised questions among local residents, who have long been concerned about suspicious activities and deaths linked to Russia in Spain. The Ukrainian government is providing support for Hrushevskyi’s family during this difficult time.
