Apple Set to Launch Foldable iPhone in 2026

Tech giant Apple is preparing to enter the foldable phone market, directly competing with Samsung and Google. The first foldable iPhone, expected to arrive in the second half of 2026, will follow Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold design. Unlike previous Apple products, this new device will build on existing technology rather than creating a completely new design.

The foldable iPhone is expected to use similar parts, including foldable OLED screens, and address common issues like the crease on the inner display and hinge problems. Apple is also developing new software features for foldable devices. The price is likely to start at $2,000, comparable to Samsung’s Z Fold 7 and Google’s Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

While Samsung leads the global foldable market, Apple’s massive reach could give it an edge. With 57% of the U.S. smartphone market share, Apple may bring foldables into the mainstream with its entry. Analysts have a Moderate Buy consensus rating on AAPL stock, with 14 Buys, 10 Holds, and one Sell in the past three months. The average price target is $228.02 per share, implying 6.8% upside potential.
