Tesla CEO Elon Musk has opened a new venture, “retro futuristic” Tesla Diner, in Los Angeles, offering classic American fare and entertainment options for its customers. The two-story silver structure features a charging station, drive-in service, and an outdoor seating space with large screens showing Star Trek episodes.
Fans of the brand lined up outside the diner before its opening, some traveling from across Southern California to attend. Musk first announced the idea in 2018, but construction was delayed due to his increasing involvement in the Trump administration. The site features a food prep area and can be ordered from vehicles using Tesla’s website.
The project has faced controversy, with two Los Angeles restaurateurs facing criticism for supporting Musk and the diner during a recent interview with the New York Times. Despite this, the Tesla Diner is now open to customers 24 hours a day, offering a unique dining experience.
