Child Malnutrition Soars in Nigeria Amid Foreign Aid Cuts

Deadly child malnutrition is surging in northern Nigeria due to a combination of factors including inflation and conflict. The situation has worsened as foreign aid cuts have been implemented. According to Doctors Without Borders, the number of children suffering from severe and fatal types of malnutrition more than doubled between June 2024 and the same period this year, with the most severe cases being reported in northern Nigeria.
