HR Exec Resigns After Viral Embrace at Coldplay Concert

Astronomer’s human resources executive, Kristin Cabot, has resigned after a viral video of her embracing CEO Andy Byron at a Coldplay concert surfaced online. The company confirmed the departure in a brief statement, saying “Kristin Cabot is no longer with Astronomer, she has resigned.”

The incident occurred during the concert at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts, when singer Chris Martin asked the cameras to scan the crowd for his “Jumbotron Song.” The video showed Cabot and Byron cuddling and smiling before their reactions were captured on camera. Cabot’s jaw dropped, her hands flew to her face, while Byron ducked out of frame.

The viral video sparked memes and parody videos, with many speculating about the nature of Cabot and Byron’s relationship. The company has since removed both profiles from its website, as well as a press release announcing Cabot’s hiring.

Astronomer, a tech firm based in New York, provides data organization platforms for big companies. The incident led to an 20% increase in online streams of Coldplay’s songs, according to industry analytics company Luminate.
