Aaron Rodgers Completes First Pass in Steelers’ Training Camp

Aaron Rodgers completed his first pass in the Pittsburgh Steelers’ opening training camp practice on Thursday, but not before linebacker Patrick Queen intercepted the ball. Despite the turnover, Rodgers remains confident in his team’s chances this season.

Rodgers, who is living with wide receiver DK Metcalf in a dorm at St. Vincent College, had one completion to Metcalf out of three targets in team periods. However, he is optimistic about their connection and believes they will grow together over the summer.

“I think most teams have legitimate chances,” Rodgers said, referencing his assessment of the NFL season. “We’re probably one of those 10 to 12 teams that have a good shot.”

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin expressed confidence in Rodgers’ ability to fit into the team’s culture. “When in Rome, he’s going to be Roman,” Tomlin said. The team’s overhaul this offseason has brought in high-profile acquisitions, including Rodgers and Metcalf.

Rodgers acknowledged that training camp is crucial for building chemistry and overcoming adversity. “It’s coming together,” he said. “Finding the right guys and hanging out with each other… growing together through practice.”

The Steelers have 17 practices before the season begins, and Rodgers is eager to see how his teammates respond to the heat and pressure of the training camp environment.
