Day 3 of Dolphins training camp saw solid quarterback play from Tua Tagovailoa, Zach Wilson, and Quinn Ewers, with none of them throwing an interception despite having several opportunities to do so. Tagovailoa completed several passes, including a 20-yard completion to Jaylen Waddle and a 40-yard pass to Nick Westbrook-Ikhine.
Rookie safety Dante Trader Jr. was absent from practice, while Bayron Matos and Aaron Brewer remained sidelined due to injury. Kader Kohou wore the orange jersey awarded to the top player from the previous day’s practice.
Willie Gay Jr. broke up a pass by Zach Wilson, but missed holding onto an interception that would have been a pick-six. Quinn Ewers had a good first three days of camp and completed passes to receivers Theo Wease Jr. and A.J. Henning on Friday. Rookie linebacker Ollie Gordon II made several physical runs with the ball.
The running game showed promise, with Alexander Mattison having a long run to the left side. However, several running plays went for loss or no gain. Derrick McClendon had his second sack in two days and was involved in a play where he jumped on a fumble by Gordon.
The Dolphins’ first practice open to fans is scheduled for Saturday at 9:05 a.m., with tickets available free of charge through the team website. The team also received an appearance from the cast of “Love Island” reality TV series, which streams on Peacock.
