The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is reaching its peak, with widespread warnings of “mass starvation” as children and civilians face extreme hunger and disease. The United Nations and aid organizations are sounding the alarm, citing dire conditions that have left Palestinians without access to basic necessities.
According to the UN Health Ministry, over 59,000 Palestinians have been killed and more than 143,000 injured since the conflict escalated in March. Children under 5 make up 17,000 of those killed, with another 33,000 injured. The situation is made worse by the collapse of aid deliveries, which have left many relying on meager rations from organizations like the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation.
Aid groups report that a sack of flour now costs $480, and daily life has become impossible due to lack of food and water. In some areas, 90% of the population is internally displaced, with many forced to flee their homes multiple times. The Israeli military controls 88% of Gaza, leaving only a small portion accessible to civilians.
As the situation spirals out of control, aid organizations warn that if action is not taken soon, Gaza will reach a “point of no return.” With food and water supplies dwindling rapidly, it’s becoming increasingly difficult for Palestinians to survive. The international community must act swiftly to address this humanitarian crisis before it’s too late.
