Actress Jamie Lee Curtis has confirmed her involvement in a reboot of the beloved TV series “Murder, She Wrote” for Universal. The Oscar-winning actress will reprise Angela Lansbury’s iconic role as amateur sleuth Jessica Fletcher.
In a recent interview, Curtis stated that she is “a minute away” from taking over the role and expressed excitement about joining the project. The reboot is being adapted from the CBS series, which ran for 12 seasons from 1984 to 1996.
Lansbury’s portrayal of Jessica Fletcher became one of the most successful and longest-running shows in TV history. Curtis will be the latest actress to play the role, bringing a fresh twist to the classic character.
The project is being penned by Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo, with producers Lord Miller and Amy Pascal on board. The news comes after Deadline exclusively reported that Curtis was in talks for the role last month.
