Yankees’ Aaron Judge Injured, Out of Action for Weeks

New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge will be out of action for several weeks due to a flexor strain in his right elbow. A scan revealed no damage to the ulnar collateral ligament. Manager Aaron Boone stated that Judge will have 10-14 days without throwing and will primarily play as a designated hitter when returning. In related news, Giancarlo Stanton, who usually plays in the outfield, will start working out to fill the gap.

Judge leads the league with a .342 batting average and has 37 home runs this season. Despite opening a seven-game lead in the AL East, the team now trails first-place Toronto by five-and-a-half games. Judge suffered an injury during Tuesday’s game against Toronto after making a tough throw from right field. His condition worsened on Wednesday when he was forced to sit out as a designated hitter and struggled with his throws while playing in the outfield.
