A record-breaking quintet of baseball legends is set to be inducted into the prestigious National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, marking one of the most diverse classes in history. The group consists of four living individuals – Ichiro Suzuki, CC Sabathia, Billy Wagner, and Dave Parker – and one deceased player – Dick Allen.
The class boasts an impressive array of accomplishments, with Suzuki being the first Japanese-born player to be elected to the Hall of Fame. A three-time All-Star and 10-time Gold Glove winner, Suzuki holds numerous records for hits in Japan and the United States. Sabathia, a four-time All-Star and Cy Young Award winner, is one of only 15 Black pitchers to win 20 games.
Wagner, known for his fiery personality and dominant relief career, shares the same determination that defined his youth growing up in poverty. Allen’s courage in the face of racism during his playing days has left a lasting legacy, while Parker’s legacy as a leader on and off the field will be remembered forever.
The 2025 class will join an elite group of baseball greats who have made significant contributions to the sport. Their induction marks a momentous occasion for baseball fans around the world, celebrating the rich history and diversity of the game.
