SpaceX Launches 28 Starlink Satellites from Florida

SpaceX launched a new group of Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit on Saturday morning, marking the first of two missions planned for the day. The Falcon 9 rocket lifted off at 5:01 a.m. EDT from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, deploying 28 broadband internet satellites. The satellites were released about an hour into the flight and are now circling the Earth.

The launch comes after a 2.5-hour outage on the Starlink network two days earlier, which affected customers globally. SpaceX officials confirmed that the issue has been resolved, and service has been restored.

This launch raises the total number of active Starlink satellites in orbit to over 8,000, with SpaceX currently licensed to deploy 12,000 relay units. The second launch of the day is scheduled for later tonight, carrying 24 more satellites from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.
