Legendary musician Elvis Costello is set to embark on a 17-date tour, titled “Radio Soul!”, which will feature his iconic early material from the late 1970s to 1986. The tour kicks off in Seattle on June 12 and ends in Miami Beach on July 12.
Costello has stated that he’s excited to revisit songs written up to 50 years ago, citing a desire to bring these timeless tracks into the present day once more. The setlist will span his first 11 albums, including fan favorites such as “Watching the Detectives”, “Pump it Up”, and “Oliver’s Army”.
Performing alongside Costello on this tour are The Imposters, comprising Steve Nieve, Pete Thomas, Davey Faragher, and guitarist Charlie Sexton. Costello emphasizes that The Imposters are not a tribute band but rather a living ensemble capable of tackling both upbeat rock numbers and ballads.
Costello has also hinted that the “Radio Soul!” tour might be his final foray into performing these early classics, suggesting that time is running out to experience them live again.
