Japanese insurer Nippon Life is in advanced discussions to acquire Resolution Life, a US-based reinsurer, in a massive £6.4 billion ($8.2 billion) deal. The proposed acquisition would mark one of the largest jumbo insurance deals in recent years, as Nippon Life looks to expand its presence globally.
