Google has finally brought its AI-powered weather forecasts to all Pixel 8 devices, including those with less memory. The feature, which was initially exclusive to the Pixel 9 series and Pixel 8 Pro, is now available to users on Reddit who spotted it in their device’s weather app. To access the AI reports, Gemini Nano must be enabled in Developer Settings.
The experience remains largely unchanged from what Pixel 9 or Pixel 8 Pro users have had access to since last year. The feature delivers a short summary of current and future conditions, along with a drop-down menu for more context. While some see it as an useful tool, others consider it redundant, feeling like a basic summary of data already available through daily forecasts.
For those on Pixel 8 or Pixel 8a, the rollout is underway. To activate AI Weather Reports, ensure Gemini Nano is enabled in Developer Settings. Users can also disable the feature by going to saved locations, tapping their profile icon, and toggling off the tool under Pixel Weather settings.
