Israel’s Genocide Claim in Gaza Gains Momentum

Leading Israeli humanitarian organizations, B’Tselem and Physicians for Human Rights, have concluded that Israel has established a “genocidal regime” aimed at destroying Palestinian society in Gaza. The analysis, backed by meticulous documentation, leaves no doubt about the severity of the situation.

B’Tselem’s executive director, Yuli Novak, stated that Israelis and Palestinians must speak the truth: Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians. The extremist government is using fear to advance a destructive agenda, expelling Palestinians from Gaza.

Physicians for Human Rights conducted a forensic-medical analysis, concluding that Israeli military operations in Gaza meet the definition of genocide as outlined by international law. They argue that Israel’s deliberate destruction of the healthcare system, including hospital bombings and medical aid obstruction, amounts to genocide.

Both organizations have criticized the international community for underestimating the severity of the situation. This claim has sparked controversy, with some drawing criticism from Israel and Jewish communities.

Historians and experts, including Lee Mordecai and Tsivia Peres Walden, have weighed in on the issue. While opinions differ, one thing is clear: the use of the term genocide in this context is no longer taboo.
