DJI Unveils Osmo 360 360-Degree Camera with Panoramic Video Capabilities

DJI has entered a new market segment with its latest camera, the Osmo 360, a first-ever 360-degree camera that competes with industry leaders like Insta360. The Osmo 360 boasts two square-shaped image sensors with f/1.9 lenses, enabling up to 8K 50fps panoramic video or 5K 4:3 30fps and 4K 120fps single-lens video.

The camera features newly developed square 1:1 aspect ratio 1/1.1”-type CMOS image sensors with 2.4μm pixels, resulting in 25% more sensor utilization and lower power consumption. The dual lenses project the entire 180° image circle onto the image sensor, minimizing “wasted” pixels.

The Osmo 360 offers various video modes, including panoramic (8K at 24/25/30/48/50fps) and single-lens mode (5K at 25/30/60fps or 4K at 100/120fps). The camera also features a SuperNight mode, Selfie mode, Hyperlapse, and timelapse. HorizonSteady and RockSteady stabilization modes are available for smooth footage.

The Osmo 360 has a generous 105GB of built-in storage and supports up to 1TB microSDXC memory cards. The camera captures up to 13.5 stops of dynamic range and features an IP68 waterproof rating, allowing users to capture underwater footage up to 10 meters/32.8 feet.

The Osmo 360 shares the same magnetic mount and batteries as the existing DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro. The camera can be controlled via a 2.0” touchscreen display, smartphone app, or gesture and voice control. Users can also connect the OsmoAudio Direct Microphone Connection to DJI microphone transmitters.

DJI offers various accessories for the Osmo 360, including a battery extension rod, motorcycle mount, and selfie sticks. The camera is available in two kits: Standard Combo (€479.99) and Adventure Combo (€629.99), which include additional batteries and mounts.
