Uber Eats is introducing new artificial intelligence (AI) features aimed at improving the shopping experience for users and helping merchants earn new customers. The platform now offers AI-enhanced food images, which can enhance photos of delivered dishes by adding missing elements. However, the accuracy of these enhanced images has yet to be confirmed.
The company is also rolling out AI-powered menu descriptions that claim to improve accuracy and provide a summary of restaurant reviews. These tools aim to highlight areas for improvement and strengths, but their effectiveness remains uncertain.
Furthermore, Uber Eats is allowing customers in select countries – including the US, Canada, Mexico, and the UK – to earn $3 in Uber Cash by sending photos of food items without menu images. The “Live Order Chat” feature will enable merchants to initiate conversations with customers after an order has been placed, providing a new avenue for customer support.
These AI-driven features are part of Uber Eats’ efforts to enhance its platform and provide better services to both users and merchants.
