Netflix Cancels Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Spy Series Fubar After One Season

Netflix has decided not to proceed with a third season of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s spy action series Fubar, following its soft return after a strong debut in May 2023. The decision comes about a month and a half after the second season launched on June 12.

The show’s performance was surprising, given Schwarzenegger’s global star power and Monica Barbaro’s Oscar nomination for her role in A Complete Unknown. Fubar had a decent first week, with around 2.2 million views, but its viewership declined over time.

Fubar is one of the rare Netflix cancellations of 2025, joining other sophomore action dramas like The Recruit and freshmen shows Pulse and The Residence. Despite this, Schwarzenegger praised the show’s entertainment value in a recent statement, saying it was “one of the funniest, most entertaining shows on TV.”

The series follows a CIA operative (Schwarzenegger) who discovers a family secret and is forced back into action for one last job. The cast also includes Carrie-Anne Moss, Milan Carter, Fortune Feimster, Travis Van Winkle, and Aparna Brielle.

The show’s creators, Nick Santora and Arnold Schwarzenegger, will continue to work on other projects together. With over 20 scripted shows renewed since the start of 2025, Netflix has a diverse slate of content for its viewers.
