Gmail has introduced a new tool to help users manage their email subscriptions more efficiently. The feature allows you to view and unsubscribe from recurring senders, including shopping deals, newsletters, and updates from apps and services.
To access the Manage Subscriptions feature, follow these steps:
* On the web: Click “More” on the left-hand menu, then choose “Manage subscriptions.”
* On mobile (Android/iOS): Tap the three horizontal lines, then select “Manage subscriptions.”
Once you’re there, you’ll see a list of recurring senders sorted by frequency. You can view recent emails from each sender, preview individual messages, and unsubscribe using the “Unsubscribe” link.
Note: The unsubscribe action may take a few days to be registered.
You can also find an Unsubscribe option in many email headers. Clicking it will prompt a confirmation dialog before removing you from the list. However, some senders may require you to visit their site to unsubscribe.
In addition to the new tool, Gmail offers other ways to manage subscriptions:
* Filter messages like this: Open one of the sender’s emails and click the three dots (top right). Select “Filter messages like this” to build a filter based on recent emails. You can choose to archive, mark as read, delete, or apply labels.
* Search for “unsubscribe”: Use the search box at the top of the interface to find your subscriptions. Click through to individual emails to find the unsubscribe buttons.
By using these tools, you can regain control over your inbox and reduce clutter from unwanted email subscriptions.
