South Park Moves to Paramount+ After Leaving HBO Max

Comedy Central’s long-running animated series, South Park, is shifting its streaming home after a deal with Paramount Global. The raunchy show will be pulled from HBO Max on August 5 and can only be streamed on Paramount+. As part of the agreement, all 26 previous seasons, including the feature-length specials, will be available on the platform.

The move comes as South Park dominates streaming charts following its 27th season premiere, “Sermon on the ‘Mount,” which debuted on Comedy Central in July. The show’s latest episode sparked controversy with a public service announcement featuring Trump created with Deepfake technology, leading to backlash from the White House.

In response to the criticism, creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone apologized at San Diego Comic-Con. However, Stephen Colbert praised the series for taking risks, saying it reminded viewers that innovators shouldn’t be restricted by government interference.

The show’s next new episode premieres on August 6 on Comedy Central. With this deal, South Park fans can now look forward to exclusive content on Paramount+.
