Ozzy Osbourne Had Private Funeral Due to Sharon’s Fragility After Public Ceremony

Ozzy Osbourne held a private funeral ceremony at his Buckinghamshire mansion nine days after his death on July 22. The intimate gathering, attended by only 110 guests, was held in contrast to the public funeral procession that drew tens of thousands of mourners on July 30.

The decision to have a smaller service came after Sharon Osbourne expressed worry about her emotional state during the public ceremony. Close friends had also expressed concerns for her well-being, with one insider revealing that she “lacked the emotional strength” to handle the large-scale event.

Ozzy was laid to rest in his 250-acre estate, which features a decorative lake and a $26 million mansion. A simple black invitation was sent to guests, featuring an image of a cross and the words “In loving memory of Ozzy Osbourne.” The private gathering was filled with celebrities, including Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, James Hetfield, Robert Trujillo, Yungblud, Marilyn Manson, and Rob Zombie.

The rock legend’s family, including his widow Sharon, children Jack, Kelly, Aimee, and Louis, also attended the service. The ceremony marked the end of a difficult time for Sharon, who had described Ozzy as her “life” and her “best friend.”
