Sterling Sharpe Honors Brother Shannon at Hall of Fame Ceremony

Sterling Sharpe made history by becoming the first brother duo inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, with his little brother Shannon receiving a heartfelt gesture from the former Green Bay Packers wide receiver.

Sharpe’s emotional induction speech was filled with love and gratitude towards his younger brother, who was part of the 2025 class alongside Jared Allen, Eric Allen, and Antonio Gates. Sterling gifted Shannon his newly-awarded HOF gold jacket, which sparked tears in his eyes.

The brothers’ bond was on full display as Sterling invited Shannon to join him on stage during his speech. The older brother emphasized that he played football for an audience of one – his little brother – who inspired him every day.

Sterling also paid tribute to Shannon’s own achievements, including winning the Super Bowl with the Denver Broncos in 1997 and later becoming a Hall of Famer despite facing setbacks. The gesture was a sweet repayment of a gift from their father, Dan Sharpe, who gave Sterling his first ring before he won three himself.

However, the highlight of the ceremony came when Shannon publicly apologized for overshadowing his brother’s achievements after being fired from ESPN. Sterling reassured him that their love and bond would remain unchanged, no matter what mistakes were made.
