Trump Attacks Jaguar’s “Woke” Ad Campaign Amid CEO Resignation

Former President Donald Trump has criticized Jaguar’s 2024 ad campaign, titled “Copy Nothing,” which features models in androgynous clothing without showcasing any vehicles. The ad sparked controversy upon its release in November 2023, with some customers expressing surprise and disdain for the rebranded brand.

Jaguar defended its new direction as a “bold and imaginative reinvention” that marks a “dramatic leap forward.” The company’s CEO, Adrian Mardell, announced his resignation last month after three decades at the helm. He will be succeeded by P.B. Balaji.

The ad itself has been viewed tens of millions of times on social media, with some users calling it “disgraceful” and urging others to sell their Jaguars due to its perceived woke ideology. Trump joined in the criticism, labeling the ad a “total disaster” that reflects poorly on the company’s leadership. He also drew attention to another recent advertisement by Actress Sydney Sweeney for American Eagle jeans, which has faced backlash for its eugenics-themed wordplay.

Jaguar did not respond immediately to requests for comment following Trump’s social media post.
