ElevenLabs, an AI audio company, has launched its music platform, Eleven Music, which claims to generate “studio-grade music” from natural language prompts. The platform has partnered with independent music licensing organization Merlin and publisher Kobalt, securing licensing agreements that protect major rightsholders’ works.
According to the company, users can create tracks in various genres, styles, and languages within minutes. Eleven Music enters the competitive generative AI music space, but its partnerships with prominent industry players give it an edge. The platform’s terms and conditions include measures to prevent copyright infringement and deep-fakery.
ElevenLabs CEO Mati Staniszewski stated that expanding into music was a natural progression for the company, which has been successful in voice synthesis technology. The partnership with Kobalt is seen as a significant move, enabling “premier artists and songwriters” to participate in developing Eleven Music Pro, a subsequent model planned for release.
The launch marks ElevenLabs’ expansion beyond voice synthesis into full AI music generation. With its licensing agreements and partnerships, the company aims to bring AI innovation in music to industry players.
