Samsung has begun rolling out its first software updates to the new Galaxy Watch 8 series, which includes the Galaxy Watch 8 and Galaxy Watch 8 Classic. The update, available in South Korea, comes with firmware versions AYG4 and BYG4, and download sizes of around 164MB and 158MB respectively.
The update primarily focuses on bug fixes and stability improvements, with none of these smartwatches receiving the August 2025 security patch yet. Instead, they are using the May 2025 security patch.
To receive the update, users can navigate to the Galaxy Wearable app on their Galaxy Watch, select “Watch settings” and then “Watch software update,” followed by tapping “Download and install.” Once complete, tap “Install now” to begin the installation process, which will restart the watch after a few minutes.
