Panthers CB Jaycee Horn Suffers Thumb Injuries After Car Accident

Carolina Panthers cornerback Jaycee Horn was involved in a car accident on his way to the stadium on Wednesday, but fortunately, he walked away with only stitches in his thumb area. According to coach Dave Canales, Horn suffered a few stitches in his left thumb and will be evaluated daily.

Horn did not participate in the team’s joint practice with the Cleveland Browns or play in the upcoming preseason game against the Browns due to the injury. However, Canales hopes that Horn will be able to return for the second preseason game against the Houston Texans on August 16.

Despite missing time with injuries throughout his career, Horn has been a key player for the Panthers since being selected by the team with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. The Panthers signed him to a four-year, $100 million contract extension in March, making him the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL.
