Buchecha Speaks Out on UFC Debut Loss and Buday’s Release

Marcus Buchecha has broken his silence on his recent debut loss to Martin Buday at UFC Abu Dhabi, stating he’s taking full responsibility for the defeat. The Brazilian heavyweight attributed a combination of “bad choices” leading to the loss, including being 12 pounds lighter than Buday and rushing into takedowns too quickly.

Buchecha expressed disappointment over the UFC’s decision not to re-sign Buday despite his impressive 7-1 record in the promotion. The veteran grappler acknowledged he made mistakes but maintained that winning isn’t everything: “I am who I am, I’m 35 years old, and I won’t change now that I’m a grown up.”

Buchecha’s next fight is scheduled for late November or early December, with no plans to participate in the upcoming Fight Night event in Rio de Janeiro. The Brazilian heavyweight emphasized he’ll continue to be genuine and true to himself, both on and off the octagon.
