PlayStation 5 exclusive Astro Bot is receiving a free expansion tomorrow, December 12, called Winter Wonder. The new level will be added at 6pm Pacific / 9pm Eastern and is available to anyone who owns the game but requires completion of the base game.
Developer Team Asobi’s studio director Nicolas Doucet expressed gratitude for the positive feedback received from players since Astro Bot’s release earlier this year. As a thank you, a new level will be added, featuring a festive world with a large Christmas tree and new special bots.
The Winter Wonder update is designed to be enjoyable for both children and adults, avoiding the challenging speedrun levels seen in previous downloadable content. The expansion was made possible by user feedback and was created to celebrate players from around the world.
Astro Bot has been a commercial success, selling 1.5 million units in its first two months on sale and receiving a 9/10 rating from IGN. The new level will be added without charge to those who already own the game, making it accessible to all players.
