South Park Mocks DHS Recruitment Ad with NSFW Caption

South Park has mocked the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) recruitment ad on social media by reposting an animated image of ICE officers from a recent episode with a sarcastic caption. The DHS account had used the image to recruit staff just hours earlier.

The White House had previously criticized South Park, calling it “irrelevant” and stating that it has not been relevant for over 20 years. However, DHS is now embracing the show’s parody by thanking South Park for drawing attention to their recruitment efforts.

The recruitment ad offered a signing-on bonus of up to $50,000 and encouraged patriotic Americans to help remove violent criminals from the country. The DHS spokesperson claimed that America has been “invaded” by criminals and predators, prompting citizens to take action.

Despite the criticism from the White House, South Park’s creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have signed a lucrative deal with streaming rights to their content worth $1.5 billion. A new episode of the show is set to air this week, featuring a character who becomes an ICE officer after losing his job as a school counselor.

The show has consistently pushed boundaries and poked fun at current events, including parodying the Trump administration in its latest episode, which depicts Donald Trump with a micro-penis. South Park’s return to television has seen high ratings, with its Season 27 opener achieving nearly 6 million viewers three days after its premiere.
