“Mockumentary Comedy Series ‘The Paper’ Premieres on Peacock”

Dunder Mifflin is back in spirit with the new mockumentary comedy series “The Paper.” The show follows the staff of a struggling Midwestern newspaper, which employs Oscar Martinez, reprised by Oscar Nuñez. The series debuts on Peacock with four episodes on September 4.

Ned Sampson, played by Domhnall Gleeson, is an ambitious journalist who joins the Toledo Truth Teller as editor-in-chief. He aims to revitalize the newspaper and battle budget cuts. A team of quirky staffers, including Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, Tim Key, and Nuñez, must be motivated under his leadership.

The show is co-created by Greg Daniels and Michael Koman, who also serve as showrunners, executive producers, and writers. Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Howard Klein, Ben Silverman, and Banijay Americas are among the other executive producers. The series hails from Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.

A trailer for “The Paper” is available to watch, showcasing Ned’s big ideas and the team’s challenges. The show promises to bring back the mockumentary style that made “The Office” successful.
