A notebook belonging to Luigi Mangione, the suspect charged with murdering UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, detailed his plans for the shooting. The notebook described going to a conference and killing an executive in a “targeted, precise” manner that does not risk innocent lives. Police matched Mangione’s fingerprints to those on a water bottle and a snack bar wrapper found near the crime scene and confirmed the unregistered gun found with him was connected to the three shell casings at the scene. The suspect is fighting extradition to New York and has denied bail on a murder charge.
