Join NASA’s SPHEREx & PUNCH Missions Launch Event

Registration is now open for digital content creators to attend the launch of NASA’s Spectro-Photometer for the History of the Universe, Epoch of Reionization and Ices Explorer (SPHEREx) mission and NASA’s Polarimeter to Unify the Corona and Heliosphere (PUNCH) mission.

The SPHEREx mission aims to provide the first all-sky spectral survey, collecting data on over 450 million galaxies and 100 million stars in the Milky Way to explore the origins of the universe. Meanwhile, the PUNCH mission consists of four small satellites in low-Earth orbit that will make global, 3D observations of the Sun’s corona.

The launch is expected to take place no earlier than February 2025 on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Space Launch Complex 4E at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. A select group of social media users will be given access similar to news media and can view the launch, tour NASA facilities, meet subject matter experts, and interact with fellow space enthusiasts.

To register, social media users must have an established history of posting content on social media platforms, highly visible and respected posts, and a unique audience. Registration is open from December 9 to December 23 at noon ET, and selected participants will receive confirmation information by January 31.

Note: This event is only open to U.S. citizens due to security restrictions at the Space Force base.
