Google has started rolling out the M3 Expressive updates to its Calendar app on Android phones and tablets, as well as on Wear OS devices. The updates focus on enhancing the visual appearance of two key tiles within the app: Next Event and Next Tasks.
The new design features a rounded container for event details, with name, duration, and themed graphics prominently displayed. The date is shown above this, while a “Calendar” button has been relocated to the bottom curve of the screen.
In contrast, the Pixel Watch companion app has announced two upcoming Tile updates that are not yet live. These include changes to the Google Contacts “Favorites” Tile and an individual “Contact” widget redesign.
Wear OS users can expect further Material 3 Expressive updates for other apps such as Google Messages, Gemini, and Google Phone. The rollout of these updates aims to provide a more visually appealing experience on smartwatches.
