Paramount Pictures has emerged victorious in a highly competitive auction for the long-awaited reunion of Timothée Chalamet and James Mangold on the big screen. The film, titled “High Side,” is based on an original story by Jaimie Oliveira and marks a new collaboration between Mangold and Chalamet.
The movie follows Chalamet’s character, a former motocross racer haunted by his past, as he is drawn back into danger by his estranged brother for a series of bank robberies. With the FBI closing in on the pair, Chalamet will star alongside Mangold, who has previously worked with him to Oscar-nominated success on the Bob Dylan biopic “A Complete Unknown.”
Paramount Pictures’ new co-chairs, Dana Goldberg and Josh Greenstein, expressed their enthusiasm for the project, stating that it aligns with the studio’s commitment to championing bold, original storytelling. Mangold praised the duo, as well as CEO David Ellison, for showing a genuine passion for story-driven filmmaking on the big screen.
This marks another successful collaboration between Chernin Entertainment and Mangold, following their previous works “The Greatest Showman” and “Ford v. Ferrari.” With Chalamet’s involvement, Paramount Pictures is confident that “High Side” will be a thrilling addition to its slate of upcoming films.
