Noem Slams South Park for “Lazy” Satire on Her Appearance

US Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has expressed her disapproval over a recent satirical depiction of her in South Park. In an interview with the Glenn Beck Program podcast, Noem stated that making fun of women’s appearances is “lazy” and petty. The episode portrayed a cartoon version of Noem with heavy makeup and excessive Botox, which slid off her head, as well as depicting her shooting dogs on an ICE instructional video.

The satire also referenced Noem’s previous memoir, in which she revealed that she had fatally shot her family’s dog Cricket after it ruined a pheasant hunt. Noem defended her actions, saying they were characteristic of the “tough decisions” authentic politicians must make. However, her admission sparked controversy and led to over eight in 10 Americans disapproving of her claims.

Noem’s comments on South Park come amidst the show’s mocking of the Trump administration, which has sent mixed signals about how it regards the program. The White House stated that South Park is “not relevant for over 20 years”, but Noem and Vice President JD Vance appeared to disregard this statement.
