Porsche Unveils High-Performance 911 Cup Racing Car

Porsche has unveiled its new high-performance 911 Cup racing car, designed to compete in one-make cup series and open-brand racing championships. The 911 Cup boasts increased output of 382 kW (520 PS) from its naturally aspirated 4.0-litre six-cylinder boxer engine. The car is largely derived from the road-approved 911 GT models and shares a similar bodywork, featuring an adapted design with improved aerodynamics.

Key upgrades include a more robust four-disc sintered metal racing clutch, improved braking system with enhanced cooling channels, and advanced electronic features such as a GPS antenna for lap time tracking. The car’s cockpit has been simplified, featuring a redesigned steering wheel, multifunctional control panel, and increased foam padding for driver comfort.

The 911 Cup is designed to maintain its service life despite the increase in performance, using materials with high recycled content wherever possible. Porsche Motorsport has partnered with Michelin to create a new generation of tyres specifically for the one-make cup car.

With its combination of series components from GT sports cars and pure racing technology, the 911 Cup pushes boundaries and serves as a training platform for Porsche Juniors. Its success is evident in its countless race and championship victories, making it one of the best-selling racing cars in the world.
