Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26200.5742 Dev Channel Arrives with Updates and Fixes

Microsoft has released Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26200.5742 (KB5064075) to the Dev Channel, bringing a series of updates, improvements, and fixes for Insiders who have opted-in to receive the latest builds as soon as they are available.

Among the notable changes in this build include the redesign of the mobile device companion in the Start menu, allowing users to access more features and recent activity items directly. Time and language settings have also been moved from Control Panel to Settings, providing users with more flexibility and control over their system’s date and time preferences.

Keyboard settings have undergone a similar overhaul, with settings for character repeat delay/rate and cursor blink rate now available in the Accessibility section of Settings. Dialogs have also been updated to match the Windows 11 visuals, including the dialog for when an app cannot open.

The build includes fixes for various issues affecting File Explorer, Task Manager, Input, and Settings, among others. These fixes address problems such as icons not mirroring correctly with certain display languages, tooltips staying visible unexpectedly, and Task Manager freezing in some cases.

Insiders who have updated to Build 26200.5722 and higher may experience issues with Visual Studio crashing on Arm64 PCs when running scenarios that depend on Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF). Microsoft is investigating this issue and plans to release a fix in future updates.

As always, users are advised to check the Known Issues section for information on any bugs or glitches that have been reported by Insiders. This includes issues with Click to Do, which may not work as expected after updating to Build 26200.5742, and some apps pinned to the taskbar failing to display correctly.

Microsoft also reminds users that features included in this build are subject to change and may never be released as part of a future Windows release. Insiders can turn on the toggle to receive the latest updates as soon as they are available via Settings > Windows Update*.
