Porsche Unveils New 911 GT3 R and 911 Cup Ahead of 2026 Season

Porsche Motorsport has launched two new race cars ahead of the 2026 season: the evolution of the 911 GT3 R and the new 911 Cup. The updated models boast improved performance, aerodynamics, and optimised handling.

The new 911 GT3 R builds on the success of its predecessor, which has scored numerous victories in over 500 starts worldwide. With significant updates, including additional ventilation openings for improved aerodynamics, the new model promises better braking and control. The car features an adapted fifth-generation racing ABS from Bosch, ensuring more balanced handling.

The 911 Cup, meanwhile, is based on the road-legal 911 GT vehicles and rolls off the production line alongside series models at Porsche’s main plant in Zuffenhausen. With a focus on improved performance and simplified handling, the new car combines extensive detailed modifications with the design of the 992.2 generation 911.

Key features of the 911 Cup include an increased output of ten hp from its 4.0-litre six-cylinder boxer engine to 382 kW (520 hp), while maintaining a weight of around 1288 kg. The car also boasts comprehensively upgraded braking systems and simplified cockpit operation, featuring a redesigned multifunction steering wheel.

Porsche Motorsport is now offering the new 911 GT3 R at €573,000 plus VAT and series-specific options, while the 911 Cup starts at €269,000 ex-works without options or VAT. Both models are set to compete in various Porsche-sanctioned series from the start of the 2026 season.
