Bethesda has confirmed the release of Heretic + Hexen, a definitive re-release of two genre-shaping first-person shooters. Developed in partnership with Nightdive Studios, the collection features improved performance, an enhanced soundtrack, online cross-platform play, and local split-screen deathmatch modes.
The new collection includes all four main games: Shadow of the Serpent Riders (Heretic), Beyond Heretic (Hexen), Deathkings of the Dark Citadel (Hexen), and two brand-new episodes created in collaboration with id Software. Players will also gain access to online cross-platform play, local split-screen deathmatch, in-game mod support, and more.
Additionally, a new update for Doom: The Dark Ages has been released, featuring all-new free content, bug fixes, and quality of life improvements. This update includes a brand-new endless arena mode called Ripatorium, offering customizable waves and time-limit challenges.
Players can experience the updates by jumping into Doom: The Dark Ages until September 2. To celebrate, players can earn exclusive rewards, including two free skins and the Perfection Doom Slayer skin upon completing three new arenas in Ripatorium.
