Microsoft Releases New Windows 11 Preview Builds with Enhanced Settings and Bug Fixes

Microsoft has released a trio of new preview builds for Windows 11, available in the Dev, Beta, and Canary Channels. The latest builds bring several enhancements to the Settings app, including new language and date/time options.

The Dev and Beta builds introduce two new sections in the Settings app: Time & Language and Additional Settings. Users can now add multiple clocks, change their time server, and format dates and times to suit their preferences.

Additionally, Microsoft has redesigned the dialog for system errors and introduced a new mobile device companion in the Start menu for Dev Channel users. The redesign improves the performance of launching cloud files and loading context menus.

The latest builds also address various bug fixes across different features, including File Explorer, Start menu, Task Manager, Input, and Settings.

Key highlights include:

* Improved support for text scaling on desktop icons
* Resolved issues with tooltips in File Explorer
* Enhanced accessibility features in Task Manager
* Fixed an issue causing some apps to crash after installing the last two builds

However, users may experience some known issues, including a rollback issue during Windows Update and a temporary layout issue with the new Start menu.

To resolve these issues, Microsoft is working on fixes for the Dev build. Users can also refer to the official announcement for more information and updates.

Microsoft’s latest preview builds are now available for download in the Dev, Beta, and Canary Channels.
