Microsoft has released Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 27919 to the Canary Channel, bringing several improvements and fixes. Here are some of the key changes and issues you can expect.
The company has rationalized and organized Windows Search settings under Settings > Privacy & security, making it easier to access all settings from a single page. The new modern visual design provides a clear browsing experience for users.
File Explorer has been fixed to prevent crashes when viewing digital signatures tabs in file properties. Input methods such as Microsoft Changjie have also been improved, with phonetic keyboards like Hindi Phonetic and Marathi Phonetic now working properly.
However, users of Copilot+ PCs may encounter issues signing into their devices using Windows Hello, resulting in error 0xd0000225. Additionally, the progress wheel may display incorrectly, and users may see multiple error pop-ups when opening Group Policy Editor.
There’s also an underlying issue with dao360.dll that may cause apps to crash, as well as an issue with remote desktop only using the primary monitor even if it’s configured to use multiple monitors.
Widgets are currently non-functional after upgrading to this build. Users can expect platform changes and new features in the Canary Channel, but some may never get released or be removed.
The builds in the Canary Channel represent early development platform changes and may not match any specific release of Windows. Features and experiences included in these builds may change over time, be removed, or replaced.
To get off the Canary Channel, a clean install of Windows 11 will be required. Insiders can’t switch to a channel with lower build numbers without doing a clean installation due to technical setup requirements.
