Actor Dean Cain, best known for playing Superman, has announced that he will join the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency. In a video posted on Instagram, Cain urged people to join ICE, listing incentives such as a signing bonus of up to $50,000. He also appeared on Fox News, stating that he would be sworn in as an ICE agent “A.S.A.P.”.
Cain’s decision comes as the Trump administration pushes to hire thousands of new personnel to support its nationwide deportation campaign. The Department of Homeland Security has eliminated the age limit for ICE officers and announced incentives such as retirement benefits and student loan repayment forgiveness.
The move is seen as a significant one, given Cain’s outspoken support for President Trump. Last month, he told Variety that he had been friends with the president “forever”. Immigration arrests nationwide have increased in recent months, with over 80,000 applications received by ICE so far.
Cain has also spoken out against wearing masks during immigration raids, stating that he does not plan to do so. His decision to join ICE has sparked debate and raised questions about his involvement with the agency.
