Tom Holland has officially started filming for the new Spider-Man movie, “Brand New Day,” in Glasgow, Scotland. A behind-the-scenes clip shared by Sony showed Holland suited up as Spider-Man on his first day of filming.
“I feel good, man. It’s day one, my fourth ever day one on Spider-Man,” Holland said. He added that the experience feels different this time around and that he’s excited to share it with fans who are on set for the first time.
The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and will feature a mix of real locations and old-school filmmaking techniques. The movie is expected to be released in July 2026.
Holland previously expressed his excitement about filming on location after the COVID-19 pandemic limited production to soundstages. He stated that the film will use Glasgow’s streets to create a massive set-piece, which he believes will feel like making an old-school Spider-Man movie again.
The cast also includes Zendaya reprising her role as MJ and Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas in undisclosed roles. Producers include Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige, who is also the head of Marvel Studios.
