Comedian and actress Amy Schumer is recovering from back surgery after suffering a surfing injury. The 44-year-old shared a photo of herself using a walker on Instagram, captioning it as a humorous remark about her ongoing health issues. According to Mayo Clinic, a laminectomy is a surgical procedure to relieve pressure on the nerves by removing an arched vertebrae.
Schumer has been open about her struggles with various medical conditions, including hyperemesis gravidarum during pregnancy and endometriosis, which led to a 2021 hysterectomy. She also revealed she was diagnosed with Cushing syndrome in 2024 after doctors noticed changes in her appearance. Schumer has since undergone several surgeries, including liposuction, breast reduction, and steroid injections.
The comedian is now taking medication Mounjaro to manage her weight loss. In a recent interview, Schumer shared that she had been struggling with the condition before discovering the effectiveness of Mounjaro. With a short recovery expected after her spinal surgery, Schumer looks forward to getting back on track and addressing an issue she jokingly mentioned – buying a new bra.
