Apple Unveils iOS 26 Beta 6 with New Ringtones, Camera Updates, and Liquid Glass Tweaks

Apple has released its sixth developer beta of iOS 26, along with updates for other devices. The changes are significant, but not revolutionary, as the software gets closer to its September public launch date.

Among the notable additions are six new ringtones, featuring a “reflection” tune variant, which is already generating buzz on social media. The most popular one, “Dreamer,” has been described as catchy and attention-grabbing.

The Camera app controversy continues with Apple making changes to how it responds to touch gestures. In response to user complaints, the company removed the Settings toggle for switching between modes. Instead, the Camera mode switcher now uses natural scrolling, which might take some time for users to adjust to.

Other updates include faster transitions, new open and close animations for launching apps, and tweaks to Liquid Glass, Apple’s updated user interface. The changes enhance readability in certain areas and add more color dispersion when switching between app tabs.

A new startup/onboarding experience has also been introduced, which showcases Liquid Glass and other iOS 26 features, including dark and clear icons and redesigned interfaces. While bug fixes are still present, users report that the beta feels more stable and faster than previous releases, suggesting Apple is nearing its public launch date.

Expect an update to the public beta soon, as the developer beta has been released.
