HONOR is gearing up to release a smartphone featuring a massive 10,000mAh battery. The Chinese tech giant has been working on this model for some time, and recent rumors have shed light on the processor it will use. According to reliable sources, the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset will power HONOR’s new phone.
The Dimensity 8500 features eight Cortex-A725 cores and a Mali-G720 GPU, manufactured using TSMC’s 4nm N4P process. While this chipset doesn’t bring significant CPU architecture changes from its predecessor, the Dimensity 8400, it does offer improved performance in certain areas.
However, the use of a non-flagship-level processor may result in limitations in other aspects such as thickness, display quality, and camera capabilities. The release date for HONOR’s massive battery smartphone is still unknown, but rumors suggest that it could debut in 2026, possibly as part of the Redmi Turbo 5 series.
The new model will likely succeed the HONOR Power, which was released in April 2025 with an 8,000mAh battery. This implies that the upcoming phone may be closer to a 10,000mAh capacity than initially thought.
